Our SchoolIn 48 years the Martha Merideth Studio of Dance, Theatre and Drama has been and continues to be a haven for people of all ages. All who aspire to explore the magnificent world of theatre, its fun and magical fantasy, are led through self development, self expression and artistry. From our youngest to our most mature student encouragement is fostered to help people realize that they can continue to expand and reinvent themselves for a lifetime. In today's world of communication, the public has been made aware of the health benefits derived from moving, dancing, singing and acting. Each year our students go on to successful experiences. They receive scholarships to major colleges and younger students who audition for prestigious intensive advanced training are successful in their goals. Feel free to learn more about our successful graduates! Since 1979 we have had our arts nonprofit performing company, the Dance Theatre Eclectic Company. Through this vehicle, we have reached out to the Long Island community to enhance the cultural life of its people. DTE provides performance training of the highest caliber to serious students. Membership is by audition. Our connection to the arts community has always been very strong. Martha Merideth has been a board member of the Town of Oyster Bay Arts Council and is currently serving as Second Vice President. She is also a member of the Long Island Dance Consortium, the Huntington Arts Council, and the Syosset Chamber of Commerce. Martha merideth Studio is situated right around the corner from the Syosset Long Island Rail Road Station, just north of Jericho Turnpike, making us easily accessible from any direction. About Our School: Careful and Protective TrainingCelebrating a 48 year history with a track record of excellence here and abroad through its graduates the Martha Merideth School of Dance and Theatre continues to expand and reinvent its educational opportunities to meet the needs of all its students, hands on! Although steeped in the traditional Vaganova technique, Martha's musical theatre, singing and dancing has proven to promote an increase in mental processing, verbal skills, socialization skills, as well as high achievement physically through a chronology of Broadway styles of movement designed for actors’ and singers’ creativity. Students are encouraged to understand the difference between the correct training, which builds and protects the body from future injury which in turn develops wisdom and strength mentally and emotionally instead of the poor, inferior training which leads to the opposite results. |
